The HatKid is the alter ego of Carlos O. Docando, an illustrator based in Barcelona, Spain. Obsessed with solid and bold colors. I was born in the ’80s and grew up in the ’90s, spending my childhood surrounded by big logos on tracksuits, Nike Air soles, basketballs, and Hip-Hop culture. This mix gave birth to The HatKid style.
I started drawing in schoolbooks (and on desks), continued painting walls as a graffiti writer in high school, studied fine arts, and eventually earned a degree in advertising graphic design. The best part is that I never stopped doing what I loved. Over the years, I have developed a distinctive and bold artistic voice—my own style.
Currently, I work as a freelancer for a variety of clients worldwide, including urban musicians, independent streetwear brands, skateboard brands, personal and commercial social networks, and events. I also sell my own art prints, original artworks, and create hand-painted murals.
